The Benfits and
Why You Should
Stop
Smoking
Once you have
decided to stop smoking then you
must be determined and do
everything everything that is in
your power to reach this goal. One
of the best ways to help you
achieve any goal is to list all the
benefits you'll get from quitting.
Then, every time you get an urge to
smoke, take the list out of your
pocket and remind yourself why you
need to get rid of the
habit.
Improvement
to Health
This is probably
one of the biggest benefits of
quitting is the improvement in your
health. You'll notice it will be a
lot easier to breathe, your lungs
will feel cleaner and your heart
will work better. You'll also sleep
better and have a considerable
increase of energy.
You
are probably aware of the fact that
smokers have a high risk of heart
attacks or lung cancer. Life is a
wonderful gift, and you should live
it to the fullest. And the best way
to do that is by being healthy so
that you can take advantage of
everything life has to
offer.
Put
that on your list also. Write down
how quitting will help you live
longer to enjoy everything that is
wonderful in life, like spending
time with your children
and
grandchildren.
Can
you imagine what would happen to
your child if you died before your
time? That could have a devastating
effect on his life, so this should
motivate you even more to get rid
of this horrible habit.
As an
ex-smoker you'll realize that the
way you taste and smell everything
will change back to how it used to
be as smoking strongly affects
these senses.
The
Health of those around you such as
loved ones
Another important
thing that needs to be taken into
consideration is the health of
loved ones and the ones surrounding
you. Smoking can have a negative
effect on your children because you
are setting a bad example for them.
Also, it can damage the health of
everyone that spend time with you
on a regular basis, like family and
friends - it's called second hand
smoking.
This
is not something to joke with and
if you simply can't stop smoking at
least smoke outside or in
cafe's/clubs/bars away from non
smokers - protect your loved
ones.
So
think about all of this, and make
the list - it's really worth the
time. Carry it around with you at
all times and use it to stop
smoking for good.
Financial
benefits of stopping
smoking
Another benefit
is that you will have more money in
your pocket When I gave up smoking
what I did was put hte money I
would have spent on a packet of
cigaretes which at the time was
about £350 in
jar
Like me you will be amazed
as to how quickly this mounts
up
Other benefits of
stopping smoking
include:
- Your breath
wont smell any more of stale
tobacco.
- The smell of
stale tobacco will also go from
your clothes, hair, and
home.
- Foods and
drinks taste and smell much
better
- Better rates
of insurance
policies.
- You are
likely to feel good about
yourself.

It is
never
too
late to
stop
smoking
to
greatly
benefit
your
health.
For
example,
if you
stop
smoking
in
middle
age,
before
having
cancer
or some
other
serious
disease,
you
avoid
most of
the
increased
risk of
death
due to
smoking.
Your
loved
ones
will
thank
you for
it |
